Seeding Storm Clouds

The times these days have an abstract quality to it. It is splattered with shades of Blue Grey and lousy Scarlet. In its stoic hurry, it leaves me behind as it rushes past me. I am not alive; it is some impostor in me who does the living part. I am merely a spectator of myself; I am surprised at the slick screenplay and the picture-perfect speed with which the frames jump queue and impose themselves. I keep checking dates and realizing that I have supposedly lived through days and months that I would not remember!

I think I will soon be running into a storm. It would help my memories. The showers will bring the dead back to life again.

  1. I dont know. Perhaps these memories are not worth remembering hence your mind is forgetting them. Perhaps that is a good thing?

  3. @ Raajii,
Thanks for your comment. Memories are in itself neutral in nature, it is our perception that lends them shades. When I wrote this, I was more worried about "memory-less" days, days that I would not remember because there is nothing in them! Since life in itself is short, I hate it when I go through these zombie phase of living :)

    Thanks and TC.

Rajesh,I strongly like to believe that the laid back feel of your recent lines is the calm before the storm and I do hope that it brings you good luck! :)

    Way to go!

Long Winter Chill

If I could do a Neruda, You would have smelt of summer roses And Autumn pine. There would have been sheer love Of the kind that causes our hearts to ache And loneliness bordering the divine. You would have had so many secrets Welling up as in a girly giggle And so few friends who would hear them all. I am no Neruda I can't paint you a Summer breeze Amidst this long winter chill.

That Fluttering of Broken Wings

If you were to cross the road and hurt your toe, I know that I will never know. As we go on to take different roads and move on across different shores, there is something that happens to our relationships. Something that estranges, disconnects, disintegrates. I know that you still think of me. I know this because I find myself thinking about you. And thoughts rarely get seeded on their own. It comes from you to I and from I to you until one of us is alive. Old relationships rarely die. Like broken winged moths, they hang around dark alleys of forgotten memory lanes. Ever so often, I can hear one of them flutter its wings. Not too close but never too far.

Hush

You don't have to tell me. I just know. Its that little sniffle that comes through The unexplained pauses The slow responses I know when you call Just because you needed to cry.
