For New Beginnings

Yes I know. I have heard this said before.
Everything that has a beginning has an end.
Beginnings and ends are two sides of the same coin. They go together.

But hey, so what if that which there once was
Is now no longer there
My lines are not for things dead and past
It is for things yet to start.
This is for New beginnings
Whatever be the end.

  2. Rajesh, I've been traveling for a couple of weeks, and I have just now checked back to your BLOG, and Wow!... the writing is wonderful... You manage to find exactly the right words to fit a memory, a mood, a longing... And you turn it into fine poetry. Thanks for the writing.

  3. Watch out for the endings, my friend. It's the endings that get us down... but, OH! those glorious beginnings. They are worth whatever comes later. Maybe, I'd better rethink that last statement.

    Good writing, Raj

Long Winter Chill

If I could do a Neruda,
You would have smelt of summer roses
And Autumn pine.
There would have been sheer love
Of the kind that causes our hearts to ache
And loneliness bordering the divine.
You would have had so many secrets
Welling up as in a girly giggle
And so few friends who would hear them all.I am no Neruda
I can't paint you a Summer breeze
Amidst this long winter chill.

The Color That Blinds

Every time I close my eyes
I see the green of Kerala countryside
The dark greens of lumbering rubber trees
The even tranquil green of silent paddy fields
The light lemon yellow green from tender clover leaves

And then I remember your dupatta
Deep red or possibly maroon
Standing out among the Kerala countrysides.

Hush

You don't have to tell me.
I just know.
Its that little sniffle that comes through
The unexplained pauses
The slow responsesI know when you call
Just because you needed to cry.
